2008 Waipara Riesling
Released November 2010
This variety thrives in the Waipara climate and conditions. The grapes come from 3 different vineyard locations within Waipara and three different harvest dates to give a range of fruit flavours.
The wine style is based around fruit weight and structure, rather than residual sugar. The wine shows these characters and some minerality to give the palate definition.
The resultant wine shows the typical lime and spice aroma that typifies Riesling, the palate has clean fruit, a hint of sweetness and finishes crisp and fresh.
This wine can be enjoyed young, while fresh and fruity, but will reward cellaring developing a rich complex honey-like bouquet, yet still have finesse on the palate.
This wine has used the screw top closure to preserve fresh fruit flavours or allow the wine to age gracefully and reach its full potential with no bottle variation.
This wine is of the same outstanding quality as the excellent 1991 and 1997 vintages from Waipara
